# Koni-Bushing - Upper shock bushing for early Koni shock absorber 1965-66


This is an exact reproduction of the upper shock eye bushing used on the original early Koni thick band front shocks. These shocks were used on 1965 – '66 Shelbys & also on Porsche 356s. The correct bushings for these shocks are not available anywhere at any price so we made our own mold from an original bushing. These are hand molded in limited quantities in black 80 durometer polyurethane. Perfect for a restoration or to be used with our reproduction shock eyes to convert a later Koni shock to that period correct look.

# Koni-Shock-Eye - Upper shock eye for early Koni shock absorber 1965-66


This is an exact reproduction of the thick band upper bushing eye found on the original early Koni front shocks. These shocks were used on 1965 – '66 Shelbys & also on Porsche 356s. Precision machined from 1018 steel to allow them to be welded onto the shock piston rod. They are made in limited quantities right here in the USA from a blueprint drawn from an original shock. This allows a modern Koni shock to be converted to the look of a vintage Koni for that extra degree of accuracy on a restoration or re-creation project.

# 100-FTH Competition Front Tow Hook for 1965-73 Mustang / Shelby


Cobra Automotive's Competition Front Tow Hook is made of .120" thick steel with a ½" diameter tow loop that projects forward 6-1/4" from the rear edge of the 2" x 6" mounting plate. An integral "Jack Bung" 2-1/8" tall x 1-3/4" diameter is welded on for quick & safe jacking in the pits. Supplied in bare steel as this is designed to be welded to the underside of the lower radiator support crossmember on 1965 thru 1970 Mustangs and Shelbys.

# 100-RTH Competition Rear Tow Hook for 1965-66 Mustang / Shelby


Cobra Automotive's Competition Rear Tow Hook is comprised of two aluminum plates .1875" thick x 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" that sandwich the steel rear taillight panel and bolt thru the stock bumper mounting holes into the steel tow loop. There is no cutting, drilling or welding required. The aluminum plates are supplied bare to be painted to match the car if desired and the tow loop is powder coated gloss Red. Designed specifically to bolt-on to 1965 and 1966 Mustangs and Shelbys with supplied grade 8 bolts.

Cobra Automotive's exclusive Battery Tray is designed to mount a Group 24 size battery in the passenger side of a 1965 thru 1973 Mustang trunk but can also be adapted to a variety of applications. This tray measures 12.75" long x 7.5" wide x 8.5" high and weighs just under 2.5 lbs. Features a side bracket and a hold down than can be mounted two ways to accommodate different style battery tops. Fabricated from laser cut, CNC formed .090" thick aluminum and finished in Silver powder coat for long lasting attractive appearance. Battery NOT included.

Cobra Automotive's exclusive competition road race oil pan is made for us by MOROSO. Utilizing heavy duty aluminum construction with integrated sump bash guard this oil pan is fabricated with billet CNC machined front and rear main seals as well as billet rails for leak free fitment. Inside there is a removable solid windage tray above 4 trap doors on a diamond shaped baffle. This helps keep the 9 quarts of oil around the matching supplied pick-up that is specially braced. Outside on the 9-1/2" deep by 10" long front sump with Pro Style kick-outs there are two ½" NPT sender bungs, one at the front and one on the left side. The ½" drain bung is at the left rear. Designed to fit 2 bolt or 4 bolt Dart and Ford 289 – 302 blocks this oil pan will accommodate Ford early style, late style and 5.0 style timing covers. This is the very same oil pan we use on our own 560 horse power vintage road race cars.

Cobra Automotive's exclusive overflow tank is made for us by MOROSO and is designed for a custom fit to the fender apron as shown. Aluminum Construction, fitted with two -12 AN inlet bungs and a 3/8" NPT return bung. This is the exact part we use to handle the crankcase ventilation on our own 560 horse power vintage road race cars. Fits 1965 to1970 Mustang.

Exact Reproduction 289 Hi-Po Main Caps.


Our Main Caps are cast and machined right here in the USA from the original Ford blueprints. A set consists of caps numbered 1- 4 and requires the use of an original rear main cap to finish an engine. These caps are cast from the highest quality Nodular iron and machined for ease of fitting to any 289 block. The I.D. of the main bearing bore is .020 undersize and the side registers are .010 over size on each side for proper adjustment before line boring and fitting to a block for the first time. They have the proper style number cast on them with the arrow facing forward just like the originals.
No more searching on E-bay or at swap meets for questionable original main caps or inferior “look alike” Mexican main caps. Re-build your existing Hi-Po or upgrade any regular 289 engine block with these new pieces to handle the added horsepower of today’s modern cam profiles and/or stroker rotating assemblies.

Now our dual reservoir conversion is more complete than ever...we've designed custom-bent stainless lines to make this the best and most complete master cylinder upgrade available anywhere.  If you already have a disc brake ’65-’66 Mustang, this is everything you'll need...master cylinder, brake lines, and we can also supply you with a new junction block and an adjustable proportioning valve, or a rebuild kit for your old valve Our master cylinders are available in two oversized sizes, with a 1” piston for stock brakes and a 1 1/8” piston for competition.  Either will improve your pedal pressure, and your Mustang will be much safer with a dual reservoir. Available with or without stainless lines (does not come with adjustable proportioning valve or junction block shown, they are available separately).

Reinforced Competition Centerlink for ’65 - ’70 Mustangs


Cobra Automotive now offers Reinforced Competition Centerlinks for 65 - 70 Mustangs with manual steering. We start with a new reproduction centerlink that is US made to exceed OEM standards. Gussets made of 1/4 thick mild steel are laser cut to fit the contours of the centerlink then welded in place. These gussets are located on 2 planes, across the back and bottom edges so there are no clearance issues with the oil pan. This greatly reduces any centerlink flex that could cause unwanted toe changes, alignment or suspension movement. The improved strength of this piece allows the driver to get the full benefit of high performance suspension modifications such as bump steer kits, competition alignments, racing tires etc.

Exact Reproduction 1965 Shelby Package Tray


Cobra Automotive is now offering its own reproduction 1965 Shelby package tray. This replaces the rear seat & trap door to the trunk. The tray has a concavity that allows the spare tire to be mounted inside the car. Made from a mold taken from an original part this has the exact texture on the inside surface and on the back side where it is visible inside the trunk. The quality and availability are excellent as these are made exclusively for Cobra Automotive by the same supplier that makes their R-Model front aprons. Finished in black gel coat with the shock access and tire hold down holes pre- cut these are ready to install in a Shelby restoration, vintage racer or Shelby clone project.

R – Model Style Front Racing Apron for ’67 – ’68 Mustangs


Cobra Automotive now offers it’s own R – Model Style front racing apron for ’67 - ’68 Mustangs. This apron brings the style and function of the Shelby GT 350 R – Model apron to the ’67 – ’68 cars. This apron has parking light holes, brake duct holes with flanges and does not use the front bumper. Made exclusively for Cobra Automotive to our own design these aprons have integral headlight buckets that eliminate the awkward lip where the front bumper used to be. Total weight savings is 24.6 lbs accomplished by the removal of the bumper, brackets, stock headlight buckets, hood latch & stock valence. They are designed for “ hood Pin” cars but can be adapted to retain the stock hood latch. Made for a precise fit out of fiberglass with a ready to paint, black, gel coat finish. These are a bolt-on part using the stock mounting points and have provisions to mount the stock grill, trim and headlight assemblies.

"Exact Fit" 65 GT350 R-Model Front Racing Apron


It was time.  We got  tired of being told these were out of stock every time we needed one, and the quality was never very consistent, so we finally decided to manufacture these R-model aprons ourselves.  After investing many hours in development time to make the installation of this apron fast and easy, we feel comfortable saying this is the nicest one you'll ever find...anywhere.  It has a beautiful outer finish,  correctly designed rear flanges for functional brake cooling hoses,  and most importantly, it requires no custom fitting or bodywork to add more expense.  No gaps, no poor fit, and no excuses.  It's nice.  So before you're lured into buying one of those "cheaper" aprons offered elsewhere, find out what your body shop would charge you for 3-4 hours of its time to make a bad fiberglas part fit your car.  Then just order part

Mustang Tie-Down and Tow Hook kit


Tired of throwing those tow hooks around your lower control arms and rear axle?  Here's a great solution...our bolt-on tow bracket kit lets you snap your tow hooks right onto these clean-looking tow rings, ratchet them up, and away you go.   The rear brackets will bolt onto any portion of a 3" axle housing, and the front tabs bolt right onto the bottom of the '65-'66 lower control arms, using the stock bolt holes for the front strut mounts.  Easily adaptable to a variety of other applications. This kit includes all four brackets... two front, and two rear, with grade 8 bolts.  Powder Coated.

Road Racing Front Crossmember


Every competition and  high  performance '65-'66 and '67 - '70 Mustang will benefit from this racing front crossmember, designed to strengthen the front frame and create a more rigid structure.  This crossmember  replaces the stock one, but ties into the two lower control arm mounting points, accepting the pivot bolts  at each side, making the front frame section a more integrated structure.  Every race car needs this piece.  It's the same setup the Boss Mustangs used.  Comes with hardware, as shown.

Vented COBRA Battery Caps


In 1965, the Shelby American factory equipped only a small handful of GT350?s with a special set of vented COBRA battery caps that came on the Autolite StaFul batteries. These appeared for only a very brief time, on 1965 GT350?s approximately between serial numbers #100 and #329. Today, these battery caps are highly valued by those lucky enough to have acquired a rare original set, and they are considered an elusive treasure by those who still search for them.

Cobra Automotive is happy to announce the reintroduction of these COBRA vented battery caps. Made from an original set of caps to construct the master molds, these beautiful reproductions are meticulously crafted, and are virtually indistinguishable from the originals. The new caps are painstakingly hand-made, one set at a time, with a total emphasis on quality and fit.  The lower necks of these caps also look like those of the originals (white), and will register perfectly in the new Autolite reproduction StaFul batteries. While the new batteries are designed for screw-in caps, these reproduction vented COBRA caps will fit snugly into the smooth area above the threaded portion of each hole. Each pair of caps is shipped with 48? of tubing to allow the battery to be vented correctly from the stock GT350?s trunk-mounted location.

Mustang Lightweight Hollow Tube Sway Bar

Cobra Automotive now offers a 1-1/4” OD hollow tube front sway bar for '65 - '66 and '67 - 70 Mustangs. They are 7-8 lbs lighter and 5% stiffer than a 1-1/8” solid unit. Made of seamless steel tubing with black powder coating and supplied with black urethane bushings and all mounting hardware. These are made for small block cars but can be installed on a big block car if a remote oil filter is used. They are 100% American-Made.
